Report about the visit of PLF delegation to CGTP Office LISBON Portugal
From 20th to 22nd March,2009
On the invitation of the CGTP_IN a delegation of Pakistan Labour Federation (PLF) visited Portugal from 20th to 22nd March,2009.
The Pakistanian delegation was received by Mr Fernando Maurício, head of the international department of CGTP-IN and by Mrs Anabela Vogado, responsible for the project area of FECTRANS/CGTP-IN
On 21st March, the delegation was received by Mr José Manuel Oliveira - President of the Railway Workers Union (SNTSF/CGTP-IN) and member of the National Council of CGTP-IN and by Mr Amável Alves - President of the Transport and Communication Trade Union Federation and member of the Executive Committee of CGTP-IN.
The delegation also met with Mr Joaquim Pires – President of Food, Beverage, Hotel and Tourism Trade Union Federation (FESAHT/CGTP-IN) and member of the National Council of CGTP-IN - and Mr Augusto Praça, member of the Executive Committee of FESAHT and of the National Council of CGTP-IN.
PLF said that the ILO is dominated by the ITUC, regarding which the CGTP-IN and the Portuguese Unions informed that they are aware of the fact that WFTU and some independent unions are not satisfied with a very large predominance of only one trade union international.
CGTP-IN and the Portuguese Unions thanked the PLF for the invitation to participate in the PLF International Convention and declared that they will analyze among them the composition of the Portuguese delegation.
Gifts were exchanged with all the Portuguese Unions that welcomed the Pakistanian Delegations.
Mr. Fernando told the delegation that The General Confederation of the Portuguese Workers is National Organization and 97 Trade Unions are affiliated to the CGTP-IN CGTP-IN its Congress every 4 Years.. He said that the working class produces the wealth but through the process of production the wealth is appreciated by capital. He said that to protect the workers basic rights we should work very hard.
The CGTP_IN accept the invitation to attend the PLF International Convention with 3 Member delegation of CGTP in the second week of September,2009 at Hotel Ambassador Lahore Pakistan.
